Collector Pays $100,000 for Broken Cobain Axe

An unidentified private collector recently spent $100,000 to purchase a guitar smashed by late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The seller, a rocker who goes by the name of Sluggo, obtained the taped-up Fender Mustang while Cobain was staying at his apartment during Nirvana’s first U.S. tour. Cobain, whose handwriting appears on the face of the guitar, destroyed the axe at a gig in New Jersey.
