Dr Pepper is “disappointed” by legal action threatened by Guns N’ Roses after a soft-drink giveaway left some fans with a bad taste. Dr Pepper promised a free drink to everyone in America if the group’s long-delayed album “Chinese Democracy” came out in 2008, but the overwhelming response crashed the company’s Web site and many fans were unable to download the coupon. A letter from the attorney representing the group and frontman Axl Rose is insisting the company take out full-page newspaper ads to apologize and expand its redemption offer. A Dr Pepper spokesman said the company is “disappointed that GN’R’s lawyers are turning a fun giveaway into a legal dispute.” He added that “for those who contacted us in the week after the giveaway … we continued to offer free coupons to address any problems they may have encountered.” He said the company also has apologized to consumers who contacted them to complain.

-Axl should apologize for putting out a shitty album after making people wait 15 years.
