EDGE FM Mobile

It’s been asked, time and time again.. “How can I listen to EDGE FM on my mobile device?”. Well, to be honest. It’s very simple. All of us here at EDGE FM recommend just one simple app which is compatible with almost EVERY smartphone platform on the market.

It’s called TuneIn Radio. TuneIn gives you access to over 50,000 of the world’s radio stations so you can find and listen to unlimited music, sports and talk radio. AM/FM/HD and Internet stations all available in one simple, intuitive app. Oh, and did we mention it’s totally FREE? That’s right, no strings attached, no monthly fee (aside from your data plan).

TuneIn Radio is available for free on the following smartphone platforms:

So how do you get started?

Click the image below or select your smartphone platform above
and download TuneIn straight to your mobile device!

…for older smartphone platforms, see below…

Windows Mobile: (versions 6, 6.5 and 6.5.x)

For classic Windows Mobile, I recommend you use the program ‘GSPlayer’. I used this program extensively to listen to radio on my Windows Mobile device and it worked great!

1) Download GSPlayer from this link. Make sure to choose the correct version for your Windows Mobile device (if you have a phone with a touchscreen, the PocketPC version is for you).

2) Download this .PLS file onto your device (SD card storage or on the phone’s storage, it doesn’t matter) via this link – http://cast1.serverhostingcenter.com/tunein.php/micsingh/playlist.pls

If you’re on your PC: right click the link, and ‘Save As’, then transfer to your phone.
If you’re on your phone: click the link and it should ask you to save the file.

3) Install the .cab file to your device and after installation, open GSPlayer from your Start menu. Select ‘Menu’, then ‘Open File’ and select the .PLS you downloaded onto your device. The station should then load up and play.

BlackBerry: (alternative to using TuneIn)

If you prefer not to use an application, just click the following link in your BlackBerry browser, and the phone should ask you where to save the file. Save it wherever you’d like, then open up the BlackBerry media player, open the file you saved and the stream should start playing. This is the link you need to click – http://cast1.serverhostingcenter.com/tunein.php/micsingh/playlist.qtl

…and there you have it. If you have a different way that works for you, great! The ways listed here have been tested and used by myself and others. If you have any questions or need help with any of these directions, please feel free to email me (singh@edgefm.net).
